New Life for leozh.net
This blog has been neglected for too long, so I have finally decided to update it regularly. I have moved from Drupal to WordPress, due to Drupal being more than I needed from blog software. I am aiming for a look that is clean and at the same time can bring together all of my posts, twitter updates, Flickr photos, etc...
I've also changed the name from Leo's Tech Blog to Leo's Updates (although I might change the name again, if I can think of something good). I don't post only about technology, so a change of names seemed like the logical thing to do.
Stay tuned for more updates.
LeoNET Is Back!
As some of you may have noticed, my server has been down a lot lately. This is because the Dell Dimension XPS T550 that this site (and my IRC server) had been running on died, after 8 years of service. I suspect the processor started going, because gcc would have internal errors.
This week, I finally decided to shell out the money for a new server. I got a Dell PowerEdge 1650 (Dual 1.4 Ghz P3, 2GB RAM, 2x73GB SCSI disks and RAID) off eBay and put Fedora Core 6 on it. Then I restored the data from the old box onto this one (which took some work as the hard drive was a little bit hosed on the old box) and here we are. I will be updating this much more often now and the uptime should be good now.
Stay tuned for pictures of the new server!
IT School, New Domain and Steaks!
Thanks to some excellent editing of my previously posted essay by my wonderful girlfriend, I have been accepted into the School of Communication, Information Technology and Library Studies as an IT major! I also registered the leozh.org domain, since Yahoo! had a great $2.99 per year domain sale. The new domain points to this site. Finally, I have recently learned how to make some delicious steaks, and my next big article will be a picture guide on how you too can make a delicious steak! Stay tuned!
Welcome!
Welcome to my new website! I was thinking about how I can add some interesting and useful content to my website, and I came upon the idea that I should document some of the things I am constantly playing with on my computer. There are many articles soon to be published to this website, including how to install OS X on an Athlon box, and how to install and configure Drupal. Enjoy!
